Stamford police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a Hope Street bank on Tuesday morning.
Lt. Diedrich Hohn said the First County Bank at 1110 Hope Street was robbed at approximately 10:22 a.m. by a white male wearing a dark-colored wig, a black winter cap, sunglasses, a neck brace and a black "Nike" jacket with a white stripe across the front.
Hohn said the suspect passed a note to the teller stating, "He had nothing to live for," and that he "has a weapon and will harm" the teller if she didn't hand over funds, then showed her a handgun.
The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money from the teller and then fled out the rear of the bank, possibly into a waiting silver or grey foreign-model vehicle parked on Mulberry Street that took off in a westerly direction, Hohn said.
The suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Stamford Police ask anyone with possible leads to contact them at 203-977-4417.
