Stamford Man Charged for Allegedly Slashing Pool Open with Knife

A Stamford man was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly repaying the woman who was allowing him to sleep at her residence when he had nowhere else to go by slashing her pool open with a knife.

Edward Willie Cobb, 32, of 25 Cottage Street, was arrested Sunday at approximately 2:20 p.m. when the resident of 50 Morris Street reported to police she just witnessed Cobb cut her pool liner open with a knife.

Police said Cobb had been staying at the Morris Street residence as he currently had nowhere to sleep, and the victim had reportedly asked Cobb to finally leave. That was when police said, on his way out, Cobb tool out a knife and slashed the pool-just days before the official start of summer.

Cobb was arrested a short time later and charged with second-degree criminal mischief.
