The 2nd Annual Dojo Dash 5k walk/run

  • 2nd Annual Dojo Dash * 5K Walk/Run To Benefit for Wounded Warrior Project

The Dojo is a Martial Arts School

located in Stamford, CT.  We have

partnered with The Wounded Warrior Project to raise money for our returning men

and women in the military. The Wounded Warrior Project’s mission is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of

injured service members; to help injured service members and to provide unique,

direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members. Shihan
Manny Esmeraldo (owner, instructor) had heard about WWP and felt compelled to

try and help this worthy cause. “We are teaching and reminding our

students and families how important it is to support our brothers and sisters serving

and sacrificing so much to keep America free and safe. I know that there’s

nothing we can do to repay them for their sacrifice, but at least this will

help,” Esmeraldo said.

Last year for our 1st Dojo

Dash we raised money for “Lifestraw” (personal water filtration systems) for

people in Haiti. We raised about $5,600.00 which gave over 800 water filtration

systems to needy people in Haiti, an awesome accomplishment for our small

community. This year we want to do even better.

On Sunday September 15th

from 10:00 am – 12:00 at Westhill High School, Stamford, CT our students,

families, and friends will be participating in a 5k walk/run to raise funds for

The WWP. We will continue to raise awareness for our military beyond this

event.“After researching what is happening to our troops, especially after injuries, PTSD etc. I felt our martial arts

community could make a difference,” said Shihan Manny Esmeraldo.
