How Are You Coping With This Metro-North Commuter Chaos?

The good news, it's almost Friday. The bad news, you may be stuck driving into NYC or fighting fellow passengers for a coveted seat on the Metro-North for the next few Fridays.

Thanks to an electrical outage Wednesday, the regular service on the Metro-North's New Haven Line from Connecticut to Grand Central Station has been down. (For the latest bus and diesel train schedules, read the Patch story here.)

During all this commuter chaos, folks have been spending hours trying to get to work or home. Many of our Patch readers are dealing with this Metro-North nightmare–either braving the commute or working remotely.

One Rye business, Serendipity Labs, is providing a free pass for stranded commuters. The state-of-the-art workspace is letting residents use the comfy digs for free. Get the full details in the Patch article here.

Larchmont-Mamaroneck Patch Reader Anu Sachdeva wrote that she had only begun to adjust to her suburb to city commute to work.

“I was just trying to get used to my Larchmont to Grand Central commute...we moved here just two weeks ago,” she posted on our Facebook page. “Working from Home again today but have to figure out a solution tomorrow. I hear that driving to Dyre Ave and taking number 5 is not so bad...?”

Fellow Larchmont-Mamaroneck Patch reader and Facebook fan Susan Riley said that “lots of people are working from the Mamaroneck library” today.

Harrison Patch reader and Facebook fan Tom Murray posted that he’s taking a vacation day today.

And over on Stamford Patch’s Facebook page, P.J. Reilly probably had the best strategy to avoid all of the hassle. “I am staying on vacation.”

TGIF, folks.
