Jim Diamond is one of the leading criminal defense attorneys in Connecticut and has been practicing criminal law since 1988. He is well known in the area of white collar criminal defense and handling governmental investigations. Jim has tried thirty criminal jury cases, which include charges of murder, manslaughter, kidnapping, larcenies, narcotics cases and sexual assaults. He is certified as a Criminal Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Jim has been voted by his peers to be a “Connecticut Superlawyer” every year since 2007.

Jim is an attorney at Cacace, Tusch & Santagata in Stamford. He was an accomplished Connecticut State prosecuting attorney in Danbury for six years. Jim was a partner in the Ridgefield law firm Reese, Hirsch for 7 years.

Prior to coming to Connecticut, Jim was an advisor to New York State Attorney General, Robert Abrams.

Jim obtained a Juris Doctor Degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1988. He is currently a candidate for a doctoral degree (SJD) from the Univ. of Arizona college of Law, the highest degree awarded in law.

He obtained a BA Degree Cum Laude in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany in 1981.

Public Service: Jim was active in Stamford government and politics, serving for 5 years as a legislator on the City of Stamford Board of Representatives. He is the former Chairman of the Stamford Democratic Party, Ridgefield Democratic Party and member of the Connecticut Democratic State Central Committee.

Jim lives in Silvermine- Norwalk, Connecticut with his four children.
