Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens, Neighbor

<strong>ar bo re tum</strong> <i>A place where trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants are cultivated for scientific and educational purposes. </i>

The Bartlett Arboretum &amp; Gardens is open to the public every day of the year. The grounds are open from 9:00 am till dusk. Admission is free to members and $6.00 per adult. Children under the age of 12 are free and Wednesdays are free to all. 

<strong>The Silver Educational Center</strong> is open everyday, 10:00am - 4:00pm and is closed on national holidays. It houses a horticulture resource library, Arboretum staff offices, a small gallery that features a variety of art exhibits and a free plant clinic open during the growing season. <br><br>Unfortunately, the Bartlett Arboretum &amp; Gardens is not handicapped accessible. <br><br>Visitors are welcome to bring their dogs to the arboretum but they must remain on a leash at all times.

<strong>Facility Rental</strong><br>The grounds and facilities at the Bartlett Arboretum are ideal for corporate events, parties and educational retreats. The 91-acre Arboretum also offers several romantic settings for the perfect wedding and reception. 

For those that want to venture away from the conventional hotel or hall setting the Bartlett Arboretum&#39;s colorful and majestic trees provide the perfect backdrop for your private event.  

<strong>Education</strong><br>Bartlett Arboretum has numerous educational programs for adults and children as well as a master gardener program. There are classes for those interested in becoming licensed arborists. 

The Connecticut Master Gardener program is conducted by the University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension system and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.  

<strong>Children</strong><br>Bartlett Arboretum hosts summer camps, vacation camps, Friday afternoon activities, an outdoor nature classroom, school programs, scout programs and birthday parties.
