Opened in 1971, Westhill is one of three public high schools that serve the city of Stamford. Known as the "home ofMore the Vikings," Westhill offers students an academic curriculum that includes 14 Advanced Placement courses and a variety of special programs such as the Army Junior ROTC and the Arts Career Academy. The campus includes a gymnasium, pool, media center, health center and the Allyson Rioux softball field.

Westhill also offers its students access to various sports teams, including football, baseball, softball, soccer, hockey, volleyball, tennis and lacrosse. The school colors—purple and gold—and the school's Viking mascot are both borrowed from the Minnesota Vikings, who were among the dominant teams in the newly merged AFL-NFL league at the time of the school's opening.

With its motto being "We all do better when we ALL do better!", Roxbury Elementary School has been a prominent, positiveMore feature in Stamford's Westover/North Stamford section since its humble beginnings in the early 1800s as a one-room, one-teacher school.  Now sitting at the corner of Roxbury and Westhill roads (across the street from Westhill High School) on 17 acres of land, the school (with Gloria Manna as principal) has approximately 700 students and 100 faculty members.

Located in Stamford's scenic Cove Park, Terry Conners has been a favorite recreational and sports hotspot for localMore residents for over 40 years.  Lots of things go on at TCR, as it's called—including Stamford youth hockey, the Southern Connecticut Figure Skating Club, and the high school hockey teams of Stamford, Westhill and Trinity Catholic.  In addition, the Terry Conners Skating School offers group skating lessons for kids and adults from October to May.

State Representative Gerald Fox III is the Assistant Majority leader serving Stamford's 146th Assembly District. More Mr. Fox is a Stamford native and graduated Westhill High School before attending Providence College and Marshall Law School in Chicago. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Stamford Public Education Foundation, CTE, Inc. and the Advisory Board for the Stamford Youth Foundation. Mr. Fox has helped make Stamford one of the safest cities in America by writing and supporting legislation to protect victims of violent crimes and strengthen penalties against offenders.
