Founded in 1999, the Academy of Information Technology & Engineering is one of three public high schools thatMore serve the city of Stamford, but as an inter-district magnet school, students from Greenwich, New Canaan, Ridgefield, Darien and Norwalk are also permitted to attend. Admission to AITE is based on an application and lottery system.

AITE combines traditional academic courses with technology training, and students have the opportunity to earn industry certification, college credit and paid corporate internships.

Although AITE has a focus on information technology, engineering and architecture, students still benefit from a broad selection of courses, including Advanced Placement. The entire faculty and student body are given laptops in order to fully integrate technology into the curriculum.

AITE shares an auditorium with Rippowam Middle School but has its own cafeteria, library and health center.
