The Stamford Board of Representatives is comprised of forty elected volunteer members who are divided into twelve committees. These committees meet about once per month (more often if necessary) to discuss agenda issues. During these meetings, committees hear testimony from invited speakers, department heads and, during public hearings, Stamford citizens. Most agenda items are decided over the course of one month, but some, especially ordinances, can take longer. All committee and full board meetings are open to the public; minutes and votes are published after each session.
