<p>Stamford High School offers its 1,800 students 200 academic courses (15 of them are advanced placement), 25 sports teams and 60 student clubs from which to choose. Stamford High is a member of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference. The campus includes Boyle Stadium, which has a football and baseball field, as well as tennis courts, a health center, a library media and technology center and a career center.</p> <p>Stamford High opened in 1874 as a one-room school inside Center Elementary School on Broad Street. After a series of moves to accommodate the growing number of enrolled students, Stamford High settled in its current building on Strawberry Hill Avenue in 1928.</p>
