The new kid on the block has made a splashy impression in a short time. Like its namesake area in Spain, Riviera Maya is vibrant and colorful on the outside but sophisticated with elegant trappings on the inside. It serves up a traditional Mexican menu, but done so well, you can lose yourself in a gigantic chicken burrito or be impressed with the tamales de langostino (corn meal stuffed with lobster), a house specialty. An extensive vegetarian menu is available as well. When seated outside, you have a corner-office view of Main Street, and if you're lucky you may even be entertained by a concert in the park merely a taco's throw away.
