Michael's was founded in 1976 by Dallas businessman Michael J. Dupey, and is now the world's largest arts and crafts retail chain. Upon walking into its Summer Street location (within the Ridgeway Center shopping plaza, right next to Marshalls), customers are greeted with everything needed for crafting—art supplies, bakeware, beads, paints, gift cards, home décor, scrapbooking, yarn and needle crafts and wedding accessories.
