<p>Founded in 1788, First United Methodist Church of Stamford offers two Sunday worship services to its 400 members as well as bible study meetings, Sunday school classes and recreational events. The building also features a library, a fellowship hall and a chapel. First United's members can join two different choirs—one for vocalists, while the other is a hand bell choir. Professional child care is provided during all worship services, and the church also runs a nursery school for 3- and 4-year-olds.</p> <p>First United has been sharing its building with the Stamford Korean United Methodist Church, which offers a service on Sundays, since 1995.</p>
