Weekend Holiday Fun In & Around Stamford

A look at the holiday-related fun going on in and around Stamford this weekend.

On Friday at 9 a.m., the annual Holiday Trunk Show is being held at the United Church Nursery School in Rowayton starting at 9 a.m. And on Saturday at 10 a.m., join in the fun at the SoNo Marketplace Cantinas with the Holiday Winter Wonderland.

Join in the holiday celebrations in Greenwich with the Christmas on Round Hill starting Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Round Hill Community House and carrying through to The Fair on Saturday, a free event open to all. Also on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. is the 5th Annual Greenwich Holiday Stroll Weekend. And the free family event, the 2nd Annual Winter's Eve Festival will be held behind the Cos Cob Firehouse Saturday starting at 3 p.m.

Both the New Canaan 'Homes for the Holidays' House Tour and Holiday Stroll kick off Friday, with the house tour beginning at 10 a.m. and the wintery holiday themed community stroll kicking off at 5:30 p.m. along Elm Street. The former runs $90 for day-of tickets, which benefit local charities and organizations, while the latter is a free event open to the family and featuring lots of activities and goodies. On Sunday at 10 a.m., the Village Critter Outfitter will hold its 2013 Holiday Photo Session.

On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., the Avon Theater will host a free screening of the holiday classic Elf. The new PetValu on High Ridge Road will host its own Pet Photos with Santa event at 11 a.m. Saturday. The North Stamford Congregational Church Stone House will host the Winter Solstice Cabaret on Saturday at 8 p.m. Finally, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Stamford's own Pop Music Academy will perform Holidays in Harmony at the Stamford Town Center in the Grand Court.
