S'mores, Summers, One-Night Stands and an ArtsFest

Hey Stamford, your weather outlook hits the low to mid-80s all weekend, with partly-cloudy or mostly-sunny skies predicted for everyday except Friday, when thunderstorms—some severe—are expected in the morning and anticipated to become more widespread in the afternoon. Check these tide charts for your daily high and low tides.

If you're looking for a chocolately, graham crackery, marshmallowy treat, Friday is National S'mores Day, so Stamford Museum & Nature Center is inviting people to come visit around 4 p.m. and roasts some chocolate and marshmallows on a graham cracker.

The Avon Theater plays host to the Yerwood Center's Junior Leaders student-made film, When We Were Young: Childhood Summers. The film includes Stamford icons talking about the summers of their formative years.

Also on Saturday, The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education—"The Center"—and PoemAlley are co-sponsoring "Café Night: One-Night Stand for the Arts" at the Unitarian Church downtown.

In New Canaan, don't miss the third-annual Silvermine ArtsFest, which is in full swing Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. There are a number of really great cultural experiences to be had, so if you're free, check it out.
