Halloween Fun All Around Stamford this Weekend

The Stamford Museum & Nature Center is hosting a Spooktacular Animal Adventure Friday evening starting at 6 p.m. for ages 3 to 6 years old and then 6:45 p.m. for ages 6 and up. "Join Animal Embassy and be introduced to some of the animals that haunt your dreams, make your "skin crawl," and the hair stand up on the back of your neck! They will demystify these amazing creatures and help families to cross the line from fear to respect and appreciation."

The Hoyt Barnum House is looking to satisfy your desires for spooky stories as well with Tales of Horror and Death Friday night. Starting at 7 p.m. The house will be opened by the Stamford Historical Society for kids ages 12-and-up. Space is limited.

The Avon Theater will host a special "extra" edition of Cult Classics on Saturday with an 11:30 p.m. showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. There will be a costume contest and the winner receives a plate of "to-die-for Halloween-themed mini cupcakes from Lorca."

In neighboring Darien, the 2nd Annual Howl-O-Ween Parade starts at 11 a.m. in the rear lot of 21 Tokeneke Road, home of The Hairy Barker Inn & Spa. $1 donations and toys for shelter dogs will be collected. Costumes encouraged and prizes will be distributed. Registration required.
