7 Fun Things to Do in Stamford this Weekend

Hey Stamford, Friday, Saturday and Sunday all linger in the low 70s, but it stays sunny all weekend. Evening temps dip to low 50s but also remain clear, according to weather.com  Check these tide charts for your daily high and low tides.

Head to the observatory at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center Friday for Astronomy Nights: Life in the Universe. Start by enjoying a presentation on life in the universe, followed by a visit to view the night sky through the Observatory's 22-inch research telescope.

On Friday, if you are looking for more art and less skies, check out the free launch party for the opening of William Nelson's Sprouting Spaces 1 art gallery at 100 Washington Boulevard. The party kicks off at 6 p.m.

For boys and girls grades 3 through 8, you can visit the Stamford YMCA for a free Stamford Peace Fall Clinic and Competitive Open Gym at 5:30 p.m. at 909 Washington Boulevard. Stamford Peace is offering Friday night competitive basketball training and conditioning clinics at The Stamford YMCA, followed by Saturday morning competitive open gym scrimmages at the St. Luke’s School.

The Mianus River Boat & Yacht Club are presenting a free Hands-Only CPR class at 98 Strickland Road in Cos Cob between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Stop in at any time for a free 15-minute training seminar. 

On Sunday, if you want to get out and about in nature for a bit, you have a couple options. You can check out the Bartlett Arboretum's guided tours, which are free to members and free with gate admission for non-members. You can also check out the Stamford Museum & Nature Center's Sunday Explorers club.
