Some Interesting Activities In & Around Stamford for the Week Ahead

Some interesting activities to keep in mind for the week ahead:

On Monday, the New Canaan Library will kick off its free three-week Tot & Me Yoga program for children ages 3 to 5 at 1:30 p.m. "Come deepen the bond created at birth between parent and child with Kismet Kids tot & me yoga classes. Yoga-play helps toddlers develop muscle control, balance and coordination, as well as develop physical and emotional awareness."

Monday night beginning at 5:30 p.m., head to the Katonah Methodist Church Parish Hall to join in on some free square dancing fun.  Square Dancing is a lot of fun and a great way to exercise your body and mind.  It is also an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.  This event is open to singles, couples and families.  The attire is casual and no experience is necessary.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., be sure to check out the next installment of the Cult Classic Series at Stamford's Avon Theater with their presentation of Wayne's World. Carte Blanche: FREE | Members: $6 | Students & Seniors: $8 | Nonmembers: $11. "One of the best movie spin-offs of a Saturday Night Live sketch, WAYNE’S WORLD follows two loveable and unambitious, metal-loving friends, Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey)."

The Greenwich Ballet Academy on Thursday at 1 p.m. will introduce it's brand new Early Prep Program. "Starting for the Spring 2014 semester, GBA will be offering an “Early Prep Program” for children ages three through five. This Creative Movement class is for Nursery school aged children who LOVE TO DANCE! This is a fun filled program that will stimulate your child’s mind with age appropriate dance and music activities.  Included in the program will also be story time where your child will begin to learn the tales of many famous ballets." The tuition is $450 for the semester plus a $20 registration fee.

On Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m., join Goldenberry in New Canaan for a Pre-Valentine's Day Sip & Shop Reception. A $10 donation [supporting the High School Book Awards] at the door covers wine, light hors d'oeuvres, and free gift from Goldenberry. Sample some of the store’s imported goodies. Find unique gifts for every budget, every occasion. Gift Baskets & Gift Certificates available upon request. 10% of all purchases will be donated to the Barnard College Club of Connecticut.
