Christmas Vacation Camp -Comic Book Creator 101 (Monday, December 23, 2013, 8:30 a.m. at Westover Elementary School in Stamford) "Write and design your own comic book about princesses, goblins, genies and other fairy tale figures. Create your own characters (even scary looking monsters!) for your comic book scenes. Animate your story and see it come to life on paper."

Great White Shark (11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. Tuesday at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, 10 North Water St., Norwalk): “No other modern animal may command both our fears and fascination as much as the great white shark – but The Maritime Aquarium’s new IMAX film suggests, instead, that these incredible predators mainly need our help and respect.”

Sewing Sessions for Kids (5-teen) (10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sew Create & Celebrate studio in Silvermine (New Canaan/Norwalk) "Sew, Create & Celebrate is open  Xtra hours for sewing during your schools Xmas break  at our studio in the Silvermine neighborhood." Classes run $38.
