A Busy Week Ahead in Stamford, All Starting with Cyber Monday

Here's a peek at all the fun going on in Stamford and beyond this week.

Following the annual tradition of trampling each other for gifts following the day where we give thanks for the things we already have, the more civil and pajama-friendly Cyber Monday takes place with online retailers offering deep discounts for the holiday shoppers looking to sip hot cocoa and leisurely peruse gifts instead of shouldering their way through hoards of brick & mortar storegoers.

The Stamford Old Timers Athletic Association will be holding its 71st Annual Dinner on Monday at the Stamford Italian Center, beginning with a cocktail hour at 6:00 pm and dinner to follow at 7:00 pm.

The Geary Gallery of Darien is proud to announce the return of “The Little Treasures Holiday Show,” for its December exhibit, featuring a collection of unique and affordable paintings, all 9” x 12” or smaller, by more than 40 of the region’s best artists. The exhibit opens on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and runs through Saturday, Jan. 18.

Limber up before the holidays with Ho Ho Free Yoga in SoNo on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. with Melissa Slattery. Taking place right next door to Chocopologie at
14 South Main Street in South Norwalk, Donations will be accepted for Norwalk’s Open Door Shelter. Everything donated will go to the ODS. Bring your own yoga mat!

Join The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education for our 5th Annual Gingerbread Houses and Cocktails for a Cause on Thursday at the Country Club of Darien starting at 7 p.m., according to this listing on Greenwich Patch. Each guest receives a fully-assembled gingerbread house to decorate while sipping wine, enjoying a light dinner buffet and chatting with friends. All proceed benefit The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education.

Both the New Canaan 'Homes for the Holidays' House Tour and Holiday Stroll kick off Friday, with the house tour beginning at 10 a.m. and the wintery holiday themed community stroll kicking off at 5:30 p.m. along Elm Street. The former runs $90 for day-of tickets, which benefit local charities and organizations, while the latter is a free event open to the family and featuring lots of activities and goodies.
