Last year, DOMUS provided over 600 meals for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, gifts for 800 kids at the Domus Shopping Mall, and 102 complete Christmas celebrations for their families. Find out how you can best help them this year by visiting their 2011 Holiday Giving website.

Fairfield County's primary hunger-relief organization, The Food Bank provides food to about 100 non-profit agencies and programs including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and senior centers. A donation of just $20 can supply soup kitchens with vegetables for a week. A list of most-needed food item donations is available here.

Their 22nd Annual began this week and will host wrapping parties on December 10th and 17th in the toy workshop at St. Luke’s LifeWorks. The collection provides gifts to 2,500 children in Fairfield County affected by poverty and/or HIV/AIDS. Visit their website to download more information.

CT-Moms' DCF Holiday Gift Card Drive

The CT-Moms fifth annual holiday gift card drive supports young adults in the foster care system through the Department of Children and Families. These 12-18 year olds are often overlooked in gift collections. CT-Moms will be collecting $20 gift cards to stores like Wal-Mart, Amazon, Target, ToysRUs, Bobs, Modells,  FYE, GameStop, Justice, Forever21, and other spots this age group would enjoy shopping for themselves. New Covenant House of Hospitality has been serving two hot meals per day to families and individuals since 1978. In the past 12 months, NCH has served over 500,000 meals. The soup kitchen will host its holiday season fundraiser on November 12 from 11 am--2:30 pm at the Italian Center.  Learn more about the event .
