KIC IT — A Triathlon for Kids in Crisis Is Set for This Weekend


The Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon is taking place this weekend — June 21 and 22 — and the Greenwich-based Kids in Crisis has announced its three honorary chairs of the event that takes place at Mill River Park.

The co-chairs are Stamford Mayor David Martin, Chief of Stamford Police Jonathan Fontneau and Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Winifred Hamilton.

“We are honored to have these three outstanding leaders in our community serve as honorary chairs for the Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon race weekend,” said Shari Shapiro, Kids in Crisis executive director. “Their participation communicates the importance of the services Kids in Crisis provides and that this race is a signature event for the state of Connecticut as well as the City of Stamford.”

The Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon and Navigators Stamford KIC IT Kids Triathlon have grown into an athletic weekend, attracting competitors from around the country.

The entire weekend benefits Kids in Crisis (www.kidsincrisis.org), Connecticut’s only free, round-the-clock agency providing emergency shelter, crisis counseling and community educational programs for children of all ages and families dealing with a wide range of crises – domestic violence, mental health and family problems, substance abuse, economic difficulties and served more than 6,000 children and families last year.
