Middle School Study Skills Workshop

Help your middle school student achieve all of his or her academic goals in 2014. Learning how to study efficiently and effectively makes all the difference.

Beginning next week, the Stamford Jewish Community Center (JCC) and Successful Study Skills 4 Students (S4) are offering S4’s popular study-skills workshop for area middle school students. The research-based workshops foster academic achievement by teaching students key study strategies that help them learn while reducing stress.

The workshop is open to all area students who are enrolled in grades 6 through 8.

Classes will be held on five Wednesdays, Jan. 15, 22, 29, Feb. 5, and 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the JCC, 1035 Newfield Avenue in Stamford. The dynamic workshops are taught by accredited teachers and class size is limited to 15 students. Small class size allows for more focused and individualized attention to be given to each participating student.

The S4 program is founded on educational research and evidence-based studies. Its interactive approach demonstrates how to apply students’ own curriculum to the study strategies they learn. S4’s workshops are continually refreshed and updated to stay relevant to students’ academic experiences.
