What's The Opposite of Cabin Fever?

Steve Gladstone needs more projects to help him get through the Winter doldrums!

Lack of snow has me wondering... what will I do with my ice melt, new snow shovel and my recently acquired snow shoes?

What happened to the winter we had last year... I remember several foot of snow, gutters ripping off some homes and  having to tunnel out to my shed just to find an ice scraper. Where has that crazy winter gone?

Mind you I'm not complaining. Here it is the middle of February and I can see Spring is merely a couple of weeks away... is it just luck?, or is it global warming?  Maybe both.

Usually by now, I have cabin fever so bad that I'd look for any reason to get outside, but the truth is I have been outside fixing stuff, cleaning gutters and picking up more than I've ever been able in any Winter I can remember.

It's 45 degrees in February, I had the door to my shop open all day... chilly but lovely in its own way. I'm so organized I'v already been Spring cleaning.

No worry of pipes freezing, icicles hanging or oil burner puffbacks.  No need to light a fire, carry around hand warmers or wear those horrible earmuffs.

Yes indeed,  this lack of snow certainly has me wondering ... mostly when is the other shoe gonna drop. When will the weather change and hammer us.  When is the avalanche coming... the tree falling, the next power outage...

I walk through the Big box store looking at generators, snow blowers and log splitters. Lots in stock, and no one to fight over the display units gathering dust.

There must be some more wintertime chores to do around here.  Anything on the TV?  Oh look they are showing Dr. Zhivago... I should pack a bag and fly to Minnesota... maybe they have some snow to shovel.
