Are you listening saturday mornings? Steve Gladstone rants about his show.

You know after almost thirteen and a half years of producing and hosting my own radio show... waking up at the crack of dawn every saturday morning... driving originally to Norwalk, now Greenwich... you would think I'd come up with a witty comeback when someone says "oh I've been a long time listener and I learn so much from your show".
Instead my face reddens and think to myself  what could this person have learned listening to me fool around with this crazy radio addiction I have cultivated.
Being on the radio seems to fuel my week,  the two hours go by in the blink of an eye and although I occasionally wake up in the middle of the night wondering what my topic will be, most days I just invite a friend and we talk for a few seconds about what lights them up; that is their business, their hobbies or whatever, and the damn two hours are vaporized again.
I try not to get too political in nature but most people know I'm pretty passionate about some of the bums out there we've elected, and I hate these stories about some city employee who is stealing money, time, or reducing the possibility that we could have a better Fairfield County, if they would just do their jobs.
I've suffered through the Stamford Fire Departments growing takeover of the volunteer departments and the Firefighter's union still considers me to be on their hit list... but really all I want is Stamford and Greenwich to be a better place for all of us.
I have been  accused of being pretty corny and I admit I like puns and wordplay... an occasional joke in good taste, and reminiscing about the past with plenty of trivia questions and going off on tangents.
Lately I've been lucky enough to team up with the voice of Greenwich- Ms Maryanne Melillo Deluca Defelice, a woman with too many names... but alas when things get quiet she jumps in and stirs the proverbial pot and things start getting crazy again.
If any of this sounds like a good way to blow a few hours on an early saturday morning , why don't you join us at 1490 am  from 7-9am or streaming on your computer or smart tv at www.wgch.com.
We are as local as you can get , discussing things around the home and trying to make your day a little brighter... while feeding my radio habit!.  And oh yes, I'll try to make it educational in a fun way.
