N. Stamford, Springdale teams battle in cross-division matchups

North Stamford/Springdale Majors

First County Bank 10, Clairol 7 – May 27

Danny D’Arinzo three-run blast among three hits drove First County Bank past Clairol 10-7 on May 27. George Psichopaidas (triple) also had three and Nick Donohue two for First County (10-5). Starting pitcher James Lavelle baffled his opponents for two innings.

Frank Gentile (double), Chris Price (double) and Connor Robb each clubbed two hits for Clairol (4-10). Calvin McKeever hurled 2.2 innings of solid relief. Joshua Harper and Mike Iorfino added RBI.

Carpentry Unlimited 1, Unity 0 -- May 28

Carpentry Unlimited’s Matt Tiplady bested Unity’s Connor Rondano in a 1-0 pitcher’s duel on May 28.  Tiplady fanned 13 and Rondano 8, and both teams played excellent defense.  Patrick Teasdale’s double led to the lone run for Carpentry (7-7) in the first.

Unity (8-7) hits came from Rondano and Tucker Healy.

Clairol 12, Sound View Engineers 6 – May 29

Starting pitcher Calvin McKeever fanned 10 over four innings and hit a two-run homer to lead Clairol over Sound View Engineers 12-6 on May 29. Frank Gentile, Chris Price and Connor Robb each had two hits, and Wesley Gonzalez drove in two for Clairol (5-10).

Andrew Stietzel had three hits while Ryan Ebright and Matt Bologna each had two for Sound View (3-15). Starter Chris Flynn pitched well for four-plus innings.

Viking Construction 12, RMS Construction 8 - May 30

Will Garofalo, Max Decker and Kyle McGarry teamed to fan 14 as Viking Construction beat RMS Construction 12-8 on May 30. Benji Fuchs, Zack Furnari and Adam Stone (three-run HR) each had multiple RBI for Viking (11-4). Dylan McGarry had three hits and Isaac Malkin added two.

Todd Guttman had two triples and Justin Palmer three hits for RMS (1-13). Matt Mattioli (double), Ameer Theodore and Kyle Morrell added hits.

Carpentry Unlimited 7, Italian Center 4 -- May 30

Patrick Teasdale’s home run and 11 strikeouts on the hill led Carpentry Unlimited to a 7-4 win over Italian Center on May 30. Kris Dushi and Alex Lanzillotti had key hits for Carpentry (8-7).

Italian Center’s Jack Seegers pitched four strong innings and had two hits. Ethan Skaug caught a strong game for IC (9-6), provided a rally-starting hit then scored on Ryan Kennedy’s triple.

RMS Construction 7, Italian Center 6 – June 1

Three hits from Justin Palmer and solid pitching from Matt Mailhot, Todd Guttman and Ethan Wilburn elevated RMS Construction over Italian Center 7-6 on June 1. All three pitchers along with Ameer Theodore and Matt Mattioli added to the hitting attack for RMS (2-13). 

Jack Seegers, Ryan Kennedy, Max Savitt and Chris Seitaridis registered hits for the IC (9-8). Kennedy and Ethan Skaug pitched well while Pete Blonkvist offered solid defensive for the IC.

AAA/Jr. Majors

P2 Telecom 2, Haggerty Pools 0 – May 10

Jerry Conetta and Jackson Zak of P2 Telecom hurled an 11-strikeout blanking of Haggerty Pools 2-0 on May 10. Art Kastrati and Jacob Sargent had RBI singles while Henry Oliver, Lucas Giantomidis, Ryan Page and Dylan Winford added hits.
Jeffrey D'Ambrosio, Christian Rubino-Chuckas and Eric Osterhus had strong mound outings for Haggerty. Rodney Louis, Michael Lueck and Francesca Rubino-Chuckas also played well.

P2 Telecom 4, John M. Stanise CPA 1 – May 21

Jacob Sergeant’s bases-clearing triple powered P2 Telecom over John M. Stanise CPA 4-1 on May 21. Sebastian Soto and Sam Ramos also collected hits. Dylan Winford fanned eight and Jackson Zak four in splitting P2’s mound chores.
Kevork Tchakmakjian led Stanise hitters with two doubles while Leonora Lipson, Aryan Kapoor and Christian Bolognese helped the offense. Justin Orecchio whiffed nine in his 3.1 innings on the hill.

John M. Stanise CPA 8, Instant Replay 1 – May 26

Kevork Tchakmakjian threw four strong innings (eight Ks) and collected two hits (RBI) as John M. Stanise CPA beat Instant Replay 8-1 win on May 26. Justin Orecchio had three hits (RBI) and struck out three in one inning on the mound. Leonora Lipson (two RBI), Christopher Gatty and Christopher Bawden also drove in runs.

Stephen Wong drove in IR’s lone run on a hit. Brandon Velez fanned three in a scoreless inning of relief. Matthew Tierney (four Ks) also pitched well.

Ahneman Kirby 8, P2 Telecom 5 – May 27

Daniel Salm’s two doubles and Ryan Oates’ two singles helped Ahneman Kirby defeat P2 Telecom 8-5 on May 27. Miles Aquila and Brian Smith pitched well while Steven Chase (double), Peter Passaro and Sam Engel provided offense.

Dylan Winford had an inside-the-park home run for P2. Lucas Giantomidis, Art Kastrati, Sam Ramos and Henry Oliver aided the offense.

Haggerty Pools 6, Buffalo Wild Wings 6 – May 27
Haggerty Pools and Buffalo Wild Wings drew a 6-6 tie on May 27. Nick Valenzano, Spencer Campbell, Jordan Bowbeer and Jonathan Decker pitched solidly for Wings.

Haggerty hurlers Andrew Zapata, Michael Maounis, Michael Lueck and Matthew Sgritta also threw well with Zapata, Rodney Louis, Vincent DiTeodoro and Christian Rubino-Chuckas (triple) adding big hits.

Instant Replay 7, Vinny's Backyard 5 – May 28

Brandon Velez drove in two runs and whiffed four in two hitless innings for Instant Replay as it downed Vinny's Backyard 7-5 on May 28. Matthew Tierney (six Ks) and Vishnu Duriseti finished the pitching. Owen Wyman added two RBI.

Kyle Bancroft had a home run, triple and three RBIs for Vinny’s. Andrew Carroll and Levi Lisack each added two hits and an RBI. Jon Iacovacci made a nice play at the plate.

U.S. Computer Connection 10, John M. Stanise CPA 0 – May 28

U.S. Computer Connection beat John M. Stanise CPA 10-0 on May 28 behind great pitching from Michael Bellacicco and Billy Saunders. Hunter Sparks had three hits while Casey Ciocci (double, RBI), Bellacicco (two RBI), Connor McGee (RBI) and Dhruv Rokkam logged hits as well.

Justin Orecchio led Stanise with two hits and a shutout inning pitching. Nicholas Seitaridis added a hit.

AA/Minors

John M. Stanise CPA 6, Super K Electric 6 – May 27

Barack Theodore had two hits and three RBI, including the game-tier, for John M. Stanise CPA as it deadlocked Super K Electric 6-6 on May 27. Bruce Rutherford and Colin Sasser each had two hits and Yanni Karipides doubled for Stanise. 

Markus Dushi (two RBI) and Blake Cortell (RBI) hit well for Super K, and Dhruv Khanna reached base all four times. Travis Fuchs and Connor Hoch each pitched a scoreless frame.

Stamford Toys 10, GCG 2 – May 28

Zachary Price and Nicholas Cannon pitched well for Stamford Toys in a 10-2 defeat of GCG on May 28. Caleb Weiss and Zach Voros had big hits and scored multiple runs while Case Clapps, Matthew Quaglino and Jonathan McDow chipped in. Brady Moore played a solid first and smacked a two-RBI double.

GCG received hits from Owen Van Dusen, Loic Williams, Max Fink, Matthew Feeny, Robbie Grande and Patrick Fahan. 

Extreme Auto Body 7, Toyota of Stamford 5 – May 29 

Extreme Auto Body’s Michael DiPreta and Harrison Mirkin made quick work at the mound, each pitching a scoreless inning to help their team beat Toyota of Stamford 7-5 on May 29. Jacob Leibowitz played great defense at first base.

Plaza Realty 6, Astacio Plumbing 5 – May 29 

Tim Wong drove in three on two hits and pitched a scoreless inning as Plaza Realty beat Astacio Plumbing 6-5 on May 29. David Schleimer smacked three hits and Nate Smith two (RBI double) for Plaza. Andrew Lanzillotti also pitched a scoreless frame. Astacio hurlers James Raidt, Cody Baker and Bailey Gendason held Plaza to two runs in two innings. Shaun Donawa (two RBI), Logan Bruno and Raidt all had two hits.

Extreme Auto Body 5, Plaza Realty 3 – May 31

Extreme Auto Body received big hits from Nicholas Brillo and Mathew Fleming (two RBI each) and Leo Lionetti (single, RBI) as it downed Plaza Realty 5-3 on May 31. Robert Newcomb and Matthew Fleming made outstanding outfield plays. Andrew Lanzillotti threw a scoreless inning for Plaza. Jake Frattaroli, Tim Wong (two hits) and Will Moskowitz (three hits) each drove in a run.

GCG 19, Super K Electric 8 – May 31

GCG racked up 22 hits with all players contributing, led by Owen Van Dusen (four hits, five RBI) in a 19-8 rout of Super K Electric on May 31. Lorenzo Terrenzio had two doubles and Daniel Chutter pitched well for Super K.

Stamford Toys 14, John M. Stanise CPA – May 31

Stamford Toys defeated John M. Stanise CPA 14-6 on May 31 led by multiple-hit games from Ethan Tracey, Michael Garofalo and Matthew Quaglino. Jack Baker play well in the field. Colin Sasser paced Stanise with three hits and an RBI. Logan O’Neill added two hits and two RBI. Nick Psichopaidas and Barack Theodore also had two hits.

Super K Electric 10, John M. Stanise CPA 8 – June 1

Connor Hoch’s six RBI, capped by a sixth-inning grand slam, led Super K Electric to a 10-8 come-from-behind victory over John M. Stanise CPA on June 1. Justin Fuchs’s four hits also proved key as did William Carragher’s three and Daniel Chutter’s two. Stanise had a big day from Yanni Karipides (four hits, three RBI) and Bruce Rutherford (three hits). 

Stamford Toys 18, GCG 8 – June 1

Five Stamford Toys players had five hits each and Case Clapps had four as it rolled to an 18-8 victory against GCG on June 1. Jack Baker also bounced back from injury for a good game.

Kai Rossetti led GCG with four hits while Bryan Larkin, Robby Grande and Patrick Fahan added two each.

Astacio Plumbing 12, Plaza Realty 5 – June 1

Cody Baker and Tyler Bruno each had three hits and Shaun Donawa went deep for a home run as Astacio Plumbing downed Plaza Realty 12-5 on June 1.

Tim Wong’s three hits (two doubles, two RBI) led Plaza hitters while Jack Driscoll and Tyler Thielen had two hits each. Joseph Colon and Andrew Lanzillotti made three double plays between them.
