First County, Viking in tight N. Stamford race; Instant Replay 9-0 in Springdale

Instant Replay clinched the Springdale Majors first half with a 9-0 record; First County Bank (9-4) has a half-game lead on Viking Construction (8-4) in the North Stamford Majors.

North Stamford Majors

Italian Center 5, First County Bank 0 – May 11

The Italian Center shout out First County Bank on a two-hit, complete game by Christian Frattaroli on May 11. Ethan Skaug bashed three hits and Frattaroli added a double for the IC (6-4). Arjav Chhabra and Jack Robinson stood out defensively for the victors.

Justin Lockery and Dan D’Arinzo pitched well for First County (2-4) despite the loss. Andrew Gray and James Lavelle both singled.

Italian Center 16, County TV 2 – May 13

Pitcher Jack Seegers’ three hits, including a three-run homer, drove the Italian Center to a 16-2 over County TV on May 13. Christian Frattaroli also socked three hits for the IC (7-4) and teammate Ryan Kennedy and Max Savitt added two hits and solid defensive.

County TV (4-7) received offense from T.J. Wainwright (two hits, double), Andrew Olsen (double), Greg Marantz (double) and Dylan Scheine. 

First County Bank 14, Unity 4 – May 14

George Psichopaidas fanned seven in solid four innings and belted a grand slam to led First County Bank past Unity 14-4 on May 14. Dan D’Arinzo and Montana Semmel also had solo blasts for First County, which received multiple hits by Andrew Gray and a great team on defensive and at the plate.

Viking Construction 19, Sound View Engineers 9 -- May 15

Adam Stone stroked two home runs and a double and Kyle Hammel went four-for-four with two runs scored as Viking Construction rolled over Sound View Engineers 19-9 on May 15. Starting pitcher Zack Furnari notched the win for Viking.

Ryan Ebright, Matt Hallinan and John Van Dusen had two hits apiece for Sound View.

Sound View Engineers 8, County TV 4 -- May 17

Chris Flynn’s solid 4.2 innings of pitching led Sound View Engineers to an 8-4 win over County TV on May 17. Matt Hallinan’s homer drove the Sound View offensive which received contributions from Andrew Stietzel and John Van Dusen. Matt Bologna recorded the final four outs for victors.

D.J. Hart pitched well for County TV and received a good all-around game from Andrew Olsen.

Unity 8, Italian Center 5 – May 17

Unity bested The Italian Center 8-5 on May 17 behind the bat and arm of Connor Rondano, who tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and collected three hits at the plate. Tucker Healy, Cole Glatzhofer and Danny Lauter also provided offensive spark for Unity (8-6).

Jack Seegers had two hits (double, walk) for the IC (7-6). Ethan Skaug started on the mound with relief provided by Chris Seitaridis and Ryan Kennedy, who had also two hits (double).

First County Bank 12, Sound View Engineers 9 -- May 18

Montana Semmel and George Psichopaidas belted home runs as First County Bank outslugged Sound View Engineers 12-9 on May 18. Danny D'Arinzo pitched well for First County (9-4) and received solid relief from Andrew Gray.

John Van Dusen pitched well for Sound View (3-11), which received three hits from Sam Essenfeld. Zach Farrell added a clutch two-out hit to drive in two runs.

Springdale Majors

Carpentry Unlimited 6, Boot Camp 3 – May 12

Matt Tiplady fanned nine in five strong innings pitching and belted three hits (RBI double) as Carpentry Unlimited defeated Boot Camp 6-3 on May 12.  Patrick Teasdale (double, RBI) and Jack Hoch (RBI) nailed  two hits each for Carpentry (5-4).

Ethan Davis’s two hits (double) led Boot Camp (4-4). Aiden Rella and Mark Lombardo (RBI) both had doubles.

Clairol 5, Abercrombie 4 – May 13

Chris Price hurled a complete game, 10-strikeout gem then drove in the winning run with a two-out single as Clairol rallied to beat Abercrombie, Burns, McKiernan & Co. Insurance 5-4 on May 13.

Connor Robb lofted a two-run homer, his first in Little League, Frank Gentile clubbed three hits (RBI),  and Calvin McKeever added two singles (RBI) for Clairol (2-7). Anthony Lowe contributed a key sacrifice bunt to move speedy Joshua Harper, the eventual winning run, into scoring position.

Justin Torres crushed a double for Abercrombie (6-3) to drive in John Fahan. Matt Eldredge also drove in a run.

Instant Replay 11, RMS Construction 0 – May 14

Jay Lockwood and Connor Sullivan combined for a one-hit shutout as Instant Replay blanked RMS Construction 11-0 on May 14. Anthony Possidento (double, home run, four RBIs) had four hits while Dave Collazo and Sterling Gregg (RBI) tallied two hits each and Jaden Dawkins scored three times for Instant Replay (8-0). Sullivan and Anthony Lueck added singles and Tyler Tuccinardi and Nick Racaniello each scored a run.

Aiden Nester’s double was the lone hit for RMS (1-8).

Boot Camp 6, Carpentry Unlimited 3 – May 15

Boot Camp pitchers Austin Byrnes and Robert Smeriglio held Carpentry Unlimited to just three hits while whiffing seven in a 6-3 victory on May 15.  Ben Nash reached base four times for Boot Camp (5-4) while Jason Marchese scored twice and Aiden Rella had a hard double. 

Carpentry (5-5) starter Patrick Teasdale held his opponent to a run over three innings. Rookies Danny Maloney (first Majors hit), Daniel Vetti (three great catches in left) and Alex Lanzillotti (pitching debut) made big contributions for Carpentry.  

Clairol 3, Abercrombie 2 – May 15

Connor Robb’s two-run homer and Calvin McKeever’s solo blast in the sixth powered a 3-2 last-inning comeback for Clairol over Abercrombie, Burns, McKiernan & Co. Insurance on May 15. Reliever Ben Servedio stranded the tying run on second to pick up the win.

Clairol (3-7) received excellent defensive from center fielder Frank Gentile, who also had two hits, and infielders Mike Iorfino and Anthony Lowe.

A.J. Rakoczy gave up just one run and struck out eight in 5.1 innings on the hill for Abercrombie (6-4). Rakoczy also tripled (run) and James Fahan doubled (run).

Instant Replay 12, RMS Construction 2 – May 17

Sterling Gregg’s homer and four RBI led Instant Replay in a 12-2 win over RMS Construction on May 17.  Dave Collazo collected two hits and Jaden Dawkins added a double, two RBI and three runs to the hitting attack.

Matt Jester and Connor Sullivan held down the pitching while Jay Lockwood and Anthony Possidento each scored twice for IR (9-0). Tyler Tuccinardi played well defensively.

Justin Palmer had two hits (run) and Andrew Patashnik scored a run for RMS (1-9). Aidan Nester, Todd Guttman and Kyle Morrell added singles.

AAA/Jr. Majors

Ahneman Kirby 7, P2 Telecom 5 – May 6

Daniel Salm’s bases-loaded triple put Ahneman Kirby ahead in a 7-5 win over P2 Telecom on May 6. Jakob Sargent had two hits for P2, Dylan Winford (two RBI) and Art Kastrati each had doubles, and Jerry Conetta and Brandon Chen added hit.

Ahneman Kirby 12, Instant Replay 10 – May 13

Miles Aquila and Brian Smith teamed for four hits and five RBI as Ahneman Kirby outlasted Instant Replay in a 12-10 slugfest on May 13. Mark Lovishuk, Ryan Oates and Peter Passaro added RBI singles for Ahneman. Bennett Ehret (three RBI) and Matthew Tierney (two RBI) each collected three hits for Instant Replay.

Buffalo Wild Wings 6, John M. Stanise CPA 1 – May 13

Spencer Campbell (two hits, RBI, three steals) helped Buffalo Wild Wings run away from John M. Stanise CPA 6-1 on May 13. Ian Frohn (RBI single), Troy Walsh and Nick Valenzano had key hits for the winners. Frohn, his brother Alec, and Ryder Kurtz split mound chores for the Wings.

Kevork Tchakmakjian (RBI double, four SBs) led Stanise on offense, and Aryan Kapoor added a hit and two steals. Leonora Lipson and Justin Orecchio pitched two shutout innings each for Stanise, and received sharp defense from Krishan Kapoor. 

U.S. Computer Connection 9, Haggerty Pools 6 – May 14

Connor McGee pitched a scoreless sixth in his mound debut as U.S Computer Connection fended off Haggerty Pools 9-6 on May 14. Billy Saunders’ single plated two go-ahead runs for U.S. Computer, and teammates Michael Bellacicco (two runs) and Matthew Lebron (RBI, two runs) contributed a pair of hits each. Gianne Jones (RBI) and Sean Jones also had hits for the winners.

Joseph Malozzi notched a couple of Ks in his pitching debut for Haggerty while Jeffrey D'Ambrosio, Eric Osterhus and Christian Rubino-Chuckas handled the remaining mound chores. Christian added three RBIs on two hits at the plate while his sister Francesca collected two RBI. Vincent DiTeodoro, D'Ambrosio, Malozzi and Osterhus also had hits.

P2 Telecom 9, Vinny's Backyard 8 – May 14

Pitcher Ryan Page helped himself to a walk-off hit that put P2 Telecom ahead of Vinny’s Backyard 9-8 on May 14. Dylan Winford pitched two scoreless innings and hit two doubles and a single for P2. Lucas Giantomidis and Art Kastrati added two singles, Jackson Zak had two RBI singles and Jacob Sargent had a base hit for the winners.

Andrew Carroll singled, doubled and scored 2 runs for Vinny’s. Kyle Bancroft (double, triple) and Wyatt Lisack each had two hits, and scored once. Austin Tovar reached base three times and scored a run. James Blance made a couple of fine defensive plays.

U.S. Computer Connection 11, Vinny's Backyard 1 – May 17
Solid, steady pitching from Hunter Sparks, backed by a strong defensive, helped U.S. Computer Connection hold Vinny's Backyard at bay in an 11-1 win on May 17. Matthew Lebron roped a double and Hunter McCarthy scored two runs for U.S. Computer.

Wyatt Lisack smacked a double and triple for Vinny’s. He scored the team’s lone run, tagging up on Kyle Bancroft's long drive to right center, which U.S. Computer's Sean Jones snared in an amazing diving catch.  

AA/Minors

Astacio Plumbing 7, Toyota of Stamford 7 – May 13

Astacio Plumbing scored six runs in the final frame for a 7-7 tie against Toyota of Stamford on May 13. Logan Bruno had three hits and Anton Srdanovic two (double) for Astacio. For Toyota, William Markline belted three doubles while Connor Robinson also had three hits. Ryan Connors and Avery Cromwell had two hits, and Thibaud Rubin scored three times.

GCG 2, Super K Electric 1 – May 14

Ben Gragg drove in both GCG runs to edge Super K Electric 2-1 on May 14. Gragg also made had an unassisted double play at first base. Max Fink and Owen Perry (run) had three hits each for GCG. Catcher Justin Fuchs had a hit and Kai Rossetti scored the winner’s other run.

Conner Hoch made three great defensive plays for Super K. Travis Fuchs had a pair of hits and Blake Cortell had one.

Stamford Toys 10, John M. Stanise 0 – May 15

Fine defense help Stamford Toys shut out John M. Stanise CPA 10-0 victory on May 15. Zach Voros and Nicholas Cannon had three hits apiece while Zachary Price and Jonathan McDow added clutch hits for the toys. Barack Theodore and Evan Psichopaidas were among the seven players hits for Stanise.

Extreme Auto Body 9, Plaza Realty 8 – May 15

Andrew Thompson's walk-off single, his third hit of the game, pushed Extreme Auto Body past Plaza Realty 9-8 on May 15. Mike DiPreta and Matthew Fleming had three hits and two RBI each for the victors. Joseph Colon smashed three doubles (four RBI) for Extreme. Plaza’s Jake Frattaroli, Evangeline Kanaris, Tim Wong and Bennett Vetti had two hits each.

Extreme Auto Body 8, Toyota of Stamford 1 – May 17

Extreme Auto Body held an early lead with solid defense to beat Toyota of Stamford 8-1 on May 17. Second baseman C.J. Berlingo had three hits and flashed the leather while Nicholas Brillo (two doubles, two RBI), Mathew Fleming (three doubles, three RBI) and Andrew Thompson also had three hits each for Extreme.

Stamford Toys 17, GCG 11 – May 17

Caleb Weiss, Nicholas Cannon and Billy Parker four hits apiece as Stamford Toys outgunned GCG 17-11 on May 17. Jack Baker and Jonathan McDow contributed three hits each for the Toys while Matthew Quaglino had a clutch hit and played solidly at third base.

Ben Gragg (double, two runs) and Owen Van Dusen (two runs) each collected three hits for GCG. Matthew Feeny had two hits (two runs), and Brady Pesaturo made some nice plays in the field.

John M. Stanise CPA 7, Super K Electric 2 – May 17

Yanni Karipides (two doubles, three runs), Colin Sasser and Bruce Rutherford belted three hits apiece to led John M. Stanise CPA over Super K Electric 7-2 on May 17. Logan O’Neill knocked in two on two hits, and saved a run chasing down a fly to right center. Liam Curran added two hits, and Barack Theodore flashed a smooth glove. Justin Fuchs led Super K with three hits, Aniket Iyer and Connor Hoch added RBI and Lorenzo Terrenzio two big hits.

Plaza Realty 8, Astacio Plumbing 8 – May 17

Astacio Plumbing piled on four in the fifth to tie Plaza Realty 8-8 on May 17. Joseph Colon led Plaza with four hits (two doubles, three RBI). Tim Wong (two RBI), Andrew Lanzillotti and Jack Driscoll had three hits. James Raidt and Anton Srdanovic paced Astacio with three hits apiece. Brothers Tyler and Logan Bruno had a pair of hits while Bailey Gendason made great defensive plays.

Stamford Toys 14, Toyota of Stamford 4 – May 18

Michael Garofalo, Ethan Tracey, Zach Voros and Nicholas Cannon smacked three hits each as Stamford Toys defeated Toyota of Stamford 14-4 on May 18. Zachary Price and Brady Moore chipped in two hits apiece and made some nice defensive plays along with Nicholas Cannon.

Plaza Realty 10, Super K Electric 0 May 18

Plaza Realty’s five-run third, keyed by back-to-back doubles from Tim Wong (three hits, 4 RBI) and Joseph Colon (four hits, three RBI), highlighted a 10-0 shutout of Super K Electric on May 18. Will Moskowitz also had four hits for Plaza. Super K received two hits each from Travis Fuchs and Aniket Ayer while William Carragher contributed with slick fielding, including a double play.

John M. Stanise CPA 10, Astacio Plumbing 5 May 18

A well-balanced offense led John M. Stanise CPA to a 10-5 victory over Astacio on May 18 with nine different players scoring a run and all 12 reaching base at least once. Bruce Rutherford had three hits and Nick Psichopaidas had a two-out RBI to knock in the winner’s first run. 

GCG 3, Extreme Auto Body 2May 18

GCG squeaked by Extreme Auto Body 3-2 on May 18 on Robby Grande’s walk-off single that drove in Kai Rossetti. Patrick Fahan of GCG drove in Loic Williams to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth. Ben Gragg also scored for the winners.

Nicholas Brillo drove both runs for Extreme with a double that followed a C.J. Belingo single and Harrison Mirkin’s double. Third sacker Mike DiPreta had a great defensive play for the losing team.
