Clairol takes 6-0 lead in second half; Boot Camp in pursuit with two more wins

Clairol extended its winning streak to a dozen games by taking two from Abercrombie, Burns, McKiernan & Co. Insurance (2-4 second half, 6-10 overall) this past week.

Clairol (12-4 overall) stands at the top of the second-half standings with 6-0 record.

Boot Camp (4-2, 10-6 overall) held down second-place in the half by winning two from RMS Construction (2-4, 6-10 overall).

First-half champs Carpentry Unlimited (2-4, 10-6 overall) split two with Instant Replay (2-4, 4-12 overall). 

Carpentry Unlimited 10, Instant Replay 1 – May 27
Carpentry Unlimited pitchers Nick Chuckas and Matt Tiplady held Instant Replay at bay in a 10-1 victory for on May 27.

Matt Doyle (double, triple), Chuckas (double) and Joe Johnson led the Carpentry offense with two hits apiece while Henry Carucci got a key base hit to get things started. Matt Rubino, Patrick Teasdale and Tiplady added hits. 

Instant Replay’s Mike Smolak, Matt Jester, Jaden Dawkins, Tyler Tuccinardi and Brenden Mulvany each had a hit. Mulvany scored the team’s only run while Jay Lockwood pitched three innings allowing just one run.

Clairol 9, Abercrombie 2 – May 29
Clairol batters rallied behind Joey Price’s five-plus inning, 10-strikeout pitching effort to defeat Abercrombie, Burns, McKiernan & Co. Insurance 9-2 on May 29.
Price also had three hits and scored three runs. Calvin McKeever added two hits, including a double, while Joshua Harper drove in a run with his first hit of the season. 

Abercrombie’s Adrian Nunez and Matt O’Connor had hits while Jordan Nunez drove in a run with a single.

Boot Camp 8, RMS Construction 7 – May 29
Boot Camp snuck past RMS Construction 8-7 on May 29. Mark Lombardo led the victors with three hits, an RBI and a run scored. Austin Byrnes scored twice. Ben Nash and Evan Field contributed with their gloves. 

Jay Nieves had two hits, including a triple, for RMS while teammate Ethan Wilburn also added two hits. Javier Peters reached base three times.

Instant Replay 13, Carpentry Unlimited 5 – May 30
Instant Replay pounded hit after hit in a 13-5 victory over Carpentry Unlimited on May 30.

Mike Smolak (two doubles), Jaden Dawkins (double, triple) and Matt Jester (double) led the attack with three hits apiece. Sterling Gregg (double), Jay Lockwood (two doubles) and Anthony Possidento (double) contributed with two hits each. Dom Demasi played well defensively. Lockwood and Jester teamed up on the hill to strike out 12 while yielding only five hits. 

Nick Chuckas had two hits (double) for Carpentry while Henry Carucci, Matt Tiplady and Pete Johnson also had base hits.

Clairol 8, Abercrombie 5 – May 31
Clairol fended off a late-game surge by Abercrombie, Burns, McKiernan & Co. Insurance to win 8-5 on May 31.

Starting pitcher Jelani Jackson striking out nine and allowed only two earned runs for Clairol. Ben Servedio had two hits, including a two-run triple. Joey Price scored three runs and Frank Gentile had a clutch two-out RBI single for Clairol.

Matt Eldredge led Abercrombie with a pair of singles. A.J. Rakoczy, John Fahan, Dillon Cuomo and Sebastian Delos Santos added hits. 

Boot Camp 11, RMS Construction 7 – June 1
Austin Byrnes and Ryan Lionetti handled the pitching while Robert Smeriglio reached base five times and knocked in four runs as Boot Camp beat RMS Construction 11-7 on June 1.

Austin Byrnes had three hits and three RBIs for Boot Camp. Jason Marchese and Max Goldfluss were also on three times as Boot Camp won their third straight. Leading the RMS offense were Justin Palmer with three hits. Jay Nieves, Erik Bannister, Drew Papp and Anthony Karwaski had two hits apiece.

Springdale AAA

U.S. Computer 8, P2 Telecom 3 – May 29 
U.S. Computer Connection overcame an early three-run deficit to short-circuit P2 Telecom 8-3 on May 29.

P2 jumped out with three in the first with RBIs from Luke Noonan and Jake Smith. Strong pitching from P2’s Lucas Giantomidis and rally-killing defensive plays from Noonan and Stevie Garst kept the opposition in check. Jerry Conetta, Stevie Garst and Erick Huyhua added hits for P2.
  
Fine pitching by U.S. Computer’s Connor Sullivan (three scoreless innings, nine Ks) and Casey Ciocci was backed by defensive support from Chase Senecal and Joe Malozzi. Big blows came off the bat of Oliver Anderes (three-RBI double) and Sullivan (two-RBI triple). John Ryan Dowling and Senecal each added two hits.

Mulberry Landscaping 14, OneVac 12 – May 29
Mulberry Landscaping trimmed OneVac 14-12 on May 29.

Aiden Nestor cracked a homer and single for Mulberry while Alex Lanzillotti banged three singles. Wesley Gonzalez and John Matura scored two runs each and Danny Maloney had a triple.
 
Kristopher Dushi led OneVac with three hits, three stolen bases and two run scored. Kyle Bancroft, Nick Valenzano and A.J. Hodel each had two hits while Leonora Lipson and Anthony Lowe scored two runs apiece.

U.S. Computer 13, OneVac 4 – May 30
Solid pitching from Avery Mui and Chase Senecal helped U.S. Computer Connection unplug OneVac 13-4 on May 30.

U.S. Computer’s Aiden Neigler had two singles and a triple. Chase Senecal (two doubles), John Ryan Dowling and Connor Sullivan (three runs) added multiple hits. James Fahan and Casey Ciocci contributed with hits and scoring two runs each.

OneVac's offensive came courtesy Anthony Lowe (two hits, two RBIs) and a solo shot by Kristopher Dushi. Leonora Lipson scored twice for OneVac.

Mulberry Landscaping 17, P2 Telecom 16 – May 30
Mulberry Landscaping clipped P2 Telecom 17-16 in a late-game hitting exhibition for both sides on May 30.

Mulberry rallied from nine runs down in the final frame to win. Aidan Nestor, who belted three hits and six RBIs, came around all the way from second on Alex Lanzillotti’s infield hit to take the final lead as the last ray of light faded from the field. Peter Passaro had a triple while Danny Maloney and Ameer Theodore provided clutch hits. Kyle Morell pitched a scoreless inning for Mulberry and Brandon Velez stole four bases.

P2 erupted for seven runs in the top of the last inning, capped by Stevie Garst’s grand slam. Andrew Patashnik (three hits, two RBIs), Mike Iorfino (two hits, three RBIs), Luke Noonan (two hits, RBI) and Erick Huyhua (two doubles) also had big nights at bat. Jake Smith reached base all three times and stole two bases for P2. Harold Alvarez caught two stealing in addition to knocking in a run. P2’s Seth Patchett pitched well, allowing only one run over 1 2/3 innings.

P2 Telecom 14, OneVac 5 – June 1
P2 Telecom pitchers Luke Noonan and Mike Iorfino paired up for five strong innings to defeat OneVac 14-5 on June 1.

Jerry Conetta had three hits and an RBI while Noonan, Harold Alvarez and Lucas Giantomidis chipped in RBIs. Andrew Patashnik tossed out two runners while Stevie Garst and Jake Smith aided the defense.

OneVac’s Brian Smith, Daniel Vetti and Leonora Lipson played solid defense. Kristopher Dushi had an RBI double and Vetti, Anthony Lowe and Kyle Bancroft all had base knocks. 

U.S. Computer 11, Mulberry Landscaping 0 – June 1
The U.S. Computer Connection tandem of Chase Senecal and Connor Sullivan shut out Mulberry Landscaping for an 11-0 victory on June 1.

Sullivan and James Fahan belted homers for U.S. Computer while Aiden Neigler and Connor had triples. John Ryan Dowling and Senecal had multi-hit games.

Mulberry's Alex Lanzillotti, Peter Passaro and Aidan Nestor each had hits. Kyle Morrell tossed a scoreless inning for Mulberry.
