Trinity Catholic Football Blanks Bassick

Crusaders defeat Lions 28-0 in snowstorm to improve to 3-4

In a freak late October snowstorm, the Trinity Catholic football team celebrated its Homecoming with a 28-0 victory over winless Bassick on Saturday.

The Crusaders, who improved to 3-4, scored the only points they needed on Kevin Epps' 8-yard touchdown run after a scoreless first quarter. Danny O'Leary then tossed a 14-yard TD pass to Donovan McIntosh to give Trinity Catholic a 14-0 halftime lead.

The Crusaders put it away in the third quarter as Epp scored his second TD of the game on a 2-yard run and Mike Palomba returned an interception 70 yards for a score.

Bassick dropped to 0-7 under first-year head coach Derrick Lewis.

Trinity Catholic looks to reach .500 next week, but it has a tough test at Darien, which will be coming off its first loss of the season, a 42-23 setback at Staples.
