The Stamford Hurricanes Boys U13 Gold soccer team improved its league record with a 3-1 victory over New Canaan.

Mikolaj Musial scored midway through the first half, assisted by Uriy Yosypiv. Yosypiv added an unassisted goal at the beginning of the second half, followed just minutes later by Matthew Rutherford's goal, which was assisted by Angel Uribe and Musial.

Justin Wexler and Will Hallett combined to make five saves in goal. Strong defense was played by Joe Magnifico, Matt Alswanger, Brandon Hoak and Jason Alvarez. Also contributing were Ben Joseph and Juan Medina up top and Benjy Robinov, Jorge Cordova, Julian Gallego and Darin Harper in the midfield.

The Hurricanes were stopped 4-0 in the third round of Connecticut Cup play by Shelton.
