Stamford Softball Runs Away With 11-3 Victory over Wilton [Video]

Krista Robustelli has three hits, including a three-run home run, for the Black Knights, who improved to 10-2

Krista Robustelli highlighted a six-run uprising in the bottom of the sixth inning with a three-run home run as the Stamford softball team pulled away for an 11-3 victory over visiting Wilton on Monday afternoon.
 
Robustelli went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two doubles to lead the Black Knights, who were nursing a 5-3 lead entering the sixth.
 
Chelsea Sciarretta also had three hits and scored twice for Stamford, which improved to 8-2 in the FCIAC and 10-2 overall. Melissa King, Kelly Jaroszynski and Nicole Defasche each contributed two hits for Stamford.
 
Taylor Zito recorded the win, giving up three runs and eight hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Dani Miskinis took the loss. 
 
Heather Sabino went 3-for-3 with two runs scored for the Warriors, who dropped to 7-4 and 7-5.  Freshman Lizette Roman-Johnson had two hits for Wilton.
 
The Warriors grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Black Knights answered with three runs in the bottom half.
 
After Wilton cut the deficit to 3-2 in the third, Stamford tacked on a pair in the fourth to make it 5-2. The Warriors scored their final run in the fifth.
