Victor Gjuraj recorded two goals and two assists as Stamford F.C. defeated Revolution United 5-0 on Sunday.
Gjuraj opened the scoring with an athletic left footed volley shot that carried beyond the reach of the keeper. Despite numerous opportunities on Revolution United’s net by Tomas Pinto-Leite, Max Atkinson and Isaac Lowell, the first half ended 1-0.

Stamford played a commanding second half. Within a minute of play, Lowell passed to Gjuraj, who cut through the right side defenders and scored off a strong shot that glanced off an opponent's shoulder.
Shortly thereafter, Gjuraj crossed the ball to Leao Valladares, who was in position and tapped it in the net. Valladares scored his second goal with a breakaway down the right side and a rocket shot that found its way in the lower left corner of the net.
Midfielders Jose Vergara, Jeffery Beltran, Jorge Ulloa demonstrated good hustle and crisp passes that allowed Stamford to maintain possession. Pressure was minimal on keeper Danny Roca as the strong defense of Ralph Daniele, Ariel De La Rosa, Brad Kaptinski, Jack Duffy, Jorge Ulloa, and Kevin Lam shut down nearly all of Revolution United’s drives.
The spirit and quality of Stamford’s play was best demonstrated by the last goal.
The drive started with crisp passes that enabled Atkinson to blast a medium range shot at the keeper, who could not secure the strong kick. Gjuraj followed through for the rebound and selflessly passed it back to Jose Vergara, who, better positioned for the shot, slipped the ball home.
Stamford F.C. will take on Sports World on Sunday at 12 p.m. at West Beach.
