Bryan Boderick accounted for five touchdowns Saturday as Stamford stunned New Canaan 36-29, earning its first win over the Rams at Boyle Stadium since 1971.

It also was New Canaan's first loss to Stamford since Lou Marinelli took over as the Rams' coach in 1981.

And the Rams may have lost more than a game as star quarterback Matt Milano sufferd an apparent concussion. Sophomore Red Bossidy played the last three quarters for the Rams (7-1).

The defeat may have dropped New Canaan out of contention for the FCIAC championship game as Staples and Greenwich, still unbeaten in conference play, are now in the driver's seat.

After Stamford took  14-7 lead, New Canaan answered on Bossidy's 1-yard TD run.

But Boderick tossed a 4-yard TD pass to his brother, Barry, to give Stamford (5-2) a 21-14 halftime lead. Bryan Boderick threw three TD passes and ran for two other scores.

Bryan Boderick's 9-yard keeper pushed Stamford's lead to 36-22. The Rams got their final score on Bossidy's 4-yard run with only five seconds remaining.

Stamford then recovered an outside kick to seal perhaps its best win in four decades.
