The Stamford F.C. U-14 boys team used a strong team effort to shut out Fairfield United F.C. 2-0 in its last game.
Leao Valladares opened the scoring after taking a nice lead pass from Jose Vergara. Valladares beat the Fairfield United goalkeeper with a shot to the lower left corner. Max Atkinson headed in a well-placed cross from Victor Gjuraj to make it 2-0.

Isaac Lowell and Tomas Pinto-Leite had numerous shots on goal that were blocked by the Fairfield keeper. Overall, Stamford outshot Fairfield 13-3.
Substitute keeper Kevin Lam saw minimal pressure but performed admirably for Stamford F.C.. Stamford’s defense of Ariel De La Rosa, Brad Kaptinski, Jorge Ulloa, Jose Vergara, and midfielders Ralph Danielle, Jeffrey Beltran and Jack Duffy were able to shut down any offensive drives.

Stamford F.C. has a 6-2 record with one more game to make up against CFC Azzurri on a date to be determined.

Through four games, Stamford's Chris Evans is the fourth-leading scorer on the Sacred Heart men's basketball team, which is off to a 2-2 start.
Evans, a sophomore guard, is averaging 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the Pioneers. He is shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from the line.
Evans scored a season-high 11 points in Sacred Heart's 74-63 win over Stony Brook on Nov. 15. Last season, he averaged 9.1 points and 3.3 rebounds.
A Stamford High School graduate, Evans spent a year at the Taft School before enrolling at Sacred Heart.
