Stamford's Andrew Erskine, a junior at Amherst College and graduate of Westhill, will be participating in the NCAA Division III cross country championships on Sunday.

The event is set for Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Erskine qualified by finishing sixth in the New England Championships with a time of 25:01.3 in the six-kilometer race at Bowdoin College.

Erskine placed 66th at last year’s NCAA Regional Championship with a time of 27:13.1, but shaved more than two minutes off that mark to qualify for the national race.

A total of 560 runners from 134 schools will participate in Saturday’s male and female races.
