The Westhill softball team (11-0) held on to the No. 3 spot in this week's New Haven Register top-10 state poll.

The top five - Waterford (7-0), Lauralton Hall (7-0),  Westhill, Seymour (9-0) and Southington (9-1)  - remained unchanged.

Bacon Academy (9-0) and Maloney (9-0), who were not ranked last week, climbed to sixth and seventh, respectively.

Holy Cross (9-2) remained eighth while Darien (9-1) moved into the poll for the first time this season at No. 9. St. Joseph (8-2) dropped four spots to No. 10 following a loss to Staples last week.

Softball

Westhill 9, Fairfield 7 -- The third-ranked Vikings jumped out to a 9-3 lead after four innings to improve to 11-0

Darien 12, Trinity Catholic 0 (6)

Stamford 11, Wilton 3 -- Krista Robustelli had three hits, including a three-run homer for the Black Knights, who improved to 10-2.
