The Stamford softball team heads into the final week of the regular season still trying to nail down an FCIAC playoff spot.
With three games remaining, the Black Knights (9-6 in league play) are in a six-team scramble for the final three playoff spots.

Stamford (9-6) is tied for sixth with Wilton (9-6) Fairfield Warde (9-6) and while Staples (9-7), Fairfield Ludlowe (8-7) and Ridgefield (8-7) are still on contention.
Stamford, which lost to Westhill on Friday, with Bridgeport Central, Trinity Catholic and St. Joseph. The first two are games the Black Knights should win but St. Joseph will be difficult.

As far as tiebreakers, Stamford beat Warde, Wilton and Staples but lost to Ludlowe at Ridgefield.
FRIDAY'S RESULTS
Softball
Westhill 9, Stamford 2 -- The Vikings improved to 15-0 by beating their city rival.
Baseball
Westhill 2, Stamford 1 -- Sam Kosterich tossed a four-hitter as the Vikings (3-14) defeated their city rival for only their third win of the season. Brandon Curto and Kosterich had RBI single in the third, when Westhill took a 2-0 lead. The Black Knights scored their only run on Brandon Docimo's RBI double in the bottom of the third. Stamford (7-10) needs to win one of its final three games to qualify for the state tournament.
Girls lacrosse
Fairfield Warde 13, Stamford 12 -- Lauren Schapiro and Madeline Burns scored five goals apiece for the Black Knights.
SATURDAY'S RESULTS
Softball
Westhill 8, Staples 1 -- Allison Macari allowed just two hits over six innings and had three hits and two RBI as the Vikings defeated the Wreckers in the completion of a suspended game. Westhill broke it open with six runs in the sixth inning.

Fairfield Ludlowe 12, Stamford 3

Staples 16, Westhill 2
Fairfield Ludlowe 13, Stamford 7 -- Greg Lupinacci scored three goals and Mike Gaizler added two for the Black Knights.
