Stamford native Seth Goodman coached the Monroe College women's basketball team to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II national championship with a 78-74 victory over top-seed Pima Community College on Saturday night in Peoria, Ill. Monroe was the No. 11 seed in the 16-team tournament field.
It was Monroe's third national championship and first since making the jump to Division II. Goodman completed his eighth season as the Lady Mustangs' coach. Monroe is located in New Rochelle, N.Y.
