Class LL, second round: Westhill 75, Hillhouse 72 -- The Vikings held on after nearly squandering a seven-point lead with under 30 seconds left to advance to Friday's quarterfinal against Glastonbury. Antwaun Boyd scored 24 points and C.J. Thompson added 19 for Westhill.

Class LL, second round: St. Joseph 52, Stamford 50 - For the second time in two weeks, Black Knights came within a whisker of upsetting one of the top teams in the state. On Feb. 23, Stamford lost to St. Joseph, 51-50. On Wednesday, the Black Knights played most of the second half without Louis Briddter and Danny Turkvan, who had four fouls, and were held scoreless for the final 2.48. They still had a chance to tie, but missed a jumper with three seconds remaining.

Class M, second round: Trinity Catholic 64, Nonnewaug 36. The Crusaders posted their second straight lopsided tournament win as Jonathan Boykin scored 25 points and Schadrac Casimir added 12. Trinity Catholic faces Bethel in the quarterfinals on Friday.
