The Westhill softball team will play for a second consecutive CIAC Class LL state championship after routing No. 4 seed Bristol Central 8-2 in the semifinals on Tuesday at Stratford's Deluca Field.
The Vikings (23-1) will face No. 3 seed Conard in the championship game on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Deluca Field. Conard advanced with a 10-2 win over Fairfield Warde in Tuesday's second semifinal.

Overall, Westhill is seeking its third softball state championship. The Vikings' first title came in 1992, 6-1 win over Westhill in the Class LL final.
Westhill is making its sixth championship game appearance, losing in the finals to Southington in 1993, Norwalk in 1991 and Hamden in 1977.

Westhill's John Petrini and Brandon Pomerance will face Old Saybrook's Andrew DeAntonis and Jack Rothman in the quarterfinals of the state tennis Open doubles on Saturday at Hamden.
Petrini and Pomerance won the Class LL doubles title over Staples' Jake Hirschberg and Graham Hyman, who are not entered in the state Open.
