Stamford's two All-Star Babe Ruth All-Star teams dropped into the loser's bracket in their respective state tournaments Sunday. The 15s fell to Trumbull 9-5 and the 14s lost to host New Milford, 3-2.
On Saturday, Trevor Kane allowed five hits over six innings as the 15s defeated West Haven, 8-1.

Matt Sciarretta and Michael Whitehead each had three hits for Stamford, which jumped out to 5-0 lead.
The Stamford 15s face Simsbury in an elimination on Monday at 5 p.m. in New Milford.

The 14s opened with a 3-2 win over Ridgefield on Saturday as Tyler Pingol delivered a key two-run double in the sixth. J.P. Loughran tossed three scoreless innings in relief to earn the win.
On Sunday, the 14s took a 2-1 lead in the sixth on Cam Elkins' two-run double, but Waterford tied it in the sixth and won it in the seventh.
The Stamford senior American Legion team finished in fourth place in Zone Four with a 15-12 record following Sunday's 4-3 loss to Darien/New Canaan, which clinched a berth in the state play-in tournament with the win.
Stamford, the No. 30 seed, visits No. 19 Ellington in a play-in game on Tuesday. The winner plays at No. 14 seed RCP on Wednesday for a spot in the main Legion state tournament.
The Stamford junior Legion club, which is 20-6 with a game remaining on Monday against Westport, has clinched first place.
If Stamford loses to Wesport and Trumbull wins its finale, Stamford, Trumbull and Ridgefield will finish in a three-way tie at 20-7. However, Stamford has the tiebreaker edge based a better head-to-head record (4-2) against the other two teams.
Ridgefield concluded its season with a 5-0 victory over Greenwich and takes an 11-game winning streak into the postseason.
The pairings for the junior state tournament will be announced.
