-- In games Wednesday night in the District One Little League tournament involving Stamford teams, Darien American defeated Federal 16-4, National Lione bested Ridgefield American 17-2 and Redding hammered Northrop, 23-2.

Defending champion North Stamford, which opened with a 5-2 win over Springdale, on Tuesday is back in action on Friday against Redding (Chestnut Hill Park, 5:30 p.m.).
In other games Friday, Federal takes on Ridgefield National (Frank Noto Field, 5:30 p.m.), Springdale faces National Lione (Scalzi Park, 7:30 p.m. and Stamford American takes on Northrop (Springdale, 5:30 p.m.).
