SportSeen: Trinity Catholic Holds on to Beat Notre Dame 62-59 in Overtime

The Crusaders advance to the Class M championship game with an exciting overtime win against Notre Dame of Fairfield.

THE GAME IN BRIEF:

The Crusaders pulled off the win after going into the locker room at the half trailing 35-26. When Freshman 7 footer Pascal Chidiebere-Chukwu came into the game during the 3rd quarter, the Crusaders poured on the defense and went on a game changing run of 14 points that energized the team and electrified the crowd.

A three point basket by Shadrac Casimir with under 7 seconds left in regulation tied it up 53-53 and sent the game into overtime. It was a battle at the free throw line in overtime and The Crusaders came out on top.

Trinity Catholic Coach Mike Walsh —During the game: "We have to do an offense with a little bit more patience. Get good shots on it. We can run whatever we want to run. Be patient. We've got to play defense and not give them any second shots."

After the win: "A hell of a win! Great team. Everybody that paid their money got their money's worth tonight."

Ranked 18th, Trinity Catholic (16-9) will meet the number 1 seed Career Magnet, New Haven (23-1) at the Mohegan Sun Arena in the Class M Finals.
