SportSeen: Stamford Boys Basketball Falls to Bassick in FCIAC Final, 57-51
Seventh seeded Stamford was going for it's second FCIAC title in three years, but fell short of their goal as Bassick pulled off the win 57-51.
The game was a heartbreaker for Stamford. With less than one minute left they were only three points behind the Lions, but a series of fouls and good Bassick defense shut them down.
The Black Knights won the FCIAC Championship in 1964 and 2009. Bassick's only previous title win came in 2007. To get to the final Stamford knocked off No. 2 seed Ridgefield (39-31) and No. 3 seed Westhill (61-59).
