The sixth-annual award ceremony was hosted at UCONN-Stamford.

The Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF) hosted Monday night the sixth-annual Excellence in Education Awards at the University of Connecticut-Stamford's Rich Concourse.

The awards "recognize businesses and community leaders for their commitment and service to education in Stamford," according to the SPEF.

There was a silent auction to raise money for SPEF’s district-wide programs and a number of awards were given out, including the SPEF Corporate Award which went to First Niagara for "its philanthropic efforts in the Stamford community and support of SPEF’s Stamford Mentoring Program."
