Northeast Elementary Students 'THINK BIG'

Northeast students surprise retiring principal Ethan Margolis at the school's annual art exhibit.

Having served 26 years at , retiring Principal Ethan Margolis has made many contributions and will leave some pretty big shoes to fill — literally. Students at the school surprised the 6’5” tall principal at their annual art show Wednesday evening, titled “THINK BIG,” with life-size art displays lining the halls.

“The theme is 'THINK BIG' because our big man is retiring,” assistant principal Donna Gardner said.

Approximately 2,500 pieces of art were showcased with each child contributing at least one piece. The show, which preceded the school’s Spring Concert, offered three workshops including ceramics, weaving and a special “hats off to Dr. Margolis” workshop in which students made a special hat in his honor.
