Special Observatory Open House- Transit of Venus

Witness what is truly a “once in a lifetime” event at the Stamford Observatory!  At 5:30 pm, we will host a special open house to view the Transit of Venus.  The transit occurs when Venus passes directly between the sun and earth. Venus is seen as a silhouette moving across the sun.  Like the rarity of Haley’s Comet, the next time one can witness this incredible event will be in 2117. This program is suitable for children ages 5 and older. Members: Free/Non-Members: Adults $3, Children (5-17) $2. For more information call 203.322-1646, e-mail info@stamfordmuseum.org, or visit www.stamfordmuseum.org
