"Japan: A Year After The Deluge"

The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable series breakfast presentation on Japan: A Year After the Deluge by Senior Fellow for Japan Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, Dr. Sheila A. Smith. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on March 7, 2012.

Dr. Smith has directed the New Regional Security Architecture for Asia project at the Council on Foreign Relations and is currently leading a project on China and India as Emerging Powers: Challenge or Opportunity for the US and Japan? Prior to joining the Council, Dr. Smith worked at the East-West Center where she specialized on Asia-Pacific international relations and U.S. policy toward Asia. She has also researched and written on Japan’s foreign policy toward China and the Northeast Asian region.

The cost for the breakfast and presentation is free for AR series members and $45 for the general public. The event will start at 7:15 A.M. with coffee and networking followed by a full breakfast buffet at 7:30. The presentation will begin at 8 A.M. and Dr. Smith will take questions.
