FREE WOMEN’S HEALTH FAIR AT JCC -- From Health and Fitness to Diet and Financial Wellbeing --

STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 21, 2012 --  The Stamford Jewish Community Center in partnership with Stamford Hospital, First County Bank and the Stamford Chapter of Hadassah will host a full-day, women's health and wellness fair on Thursday, March 15.  The free event is called Women Living Healthy in 2012 and is open to the public.

This is the second year for the event that focuses on women ages 25-60 offering health screenings, fitness classes, food demonstrations, panel discussions and presentations.  This year there will be two Stamford Hospital panels centered on health, three First County Bank financial wellbeing presentations, and a discussion on achieving and maintaining wellness by well-known psychologist Dale Atkins, Ph.D.  The event that attracted 300 participants last year is being held at the Stamford JCC, located at 1035 Newfield Ave. in Stamford.

“We’re calling on women of all ages:  This is your day to focus on you, from head to toe,” said Risa Raich, president of The Center Women, a fundraising arm of the JCC.  “This event will be all encompassing: from health and fitness to diet and financial wellbeing.

“We’re very excited to have First County Bank co-sponsor this event with Stamford Hospital.  The bank is extremely community focused,” said Raich, an eight-year Fairfield County resident.  “Its commitment to the health fair by providing sponsorship dollars and instructors on financial health will make this event informative for all participants.”

“This is a terrific event for women in the area to enjoy a day for themselves and better their lives,” said Kathy Harris, president of First County Bank.  “I plan on being there and I’ve already told a number of friends about it.  The JCC has been instrumental in organizing this fair for a second year and First County Bank wanted to be a part of it.”  In fact, the bank is in the process of notifying its customers through branch signage, social media and word-of-mouth.
