Centuries of Progress: American World's Fairs 1853-1982

Saturday, January 14 - Sunday, March 18

What do the telephone, the Ferris Wheel, a 28,000-pound typewriter, and nylon stockings have in common? They were just a few of the thousands of products, curiosities, and inventions that made their debut at one of 17 World's Fairs that took place on America soil between 1853 and 1982. Visitors will enjoy more than 125 objects, photographs, and ephemera that detail progress, promotion, and public response.

The Galleries are open, Monday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm; Sundays 11am - 5 pm.  Members: FREE  Non-Members: FREE with gate admission. For more information call 203.322.1646, e-mail info@stamfordmuseum.org, or visit www.stamfordmuseum.org
